Matcha Frappé Recipe

Matcha Frappé Recipe

Just sweet enough, this energizing matcha drink makes a great alternative to iced coffee or tea. Matcha green tea powder helps support balanced energy and alertness and it's absolutely delicious in frappé form. Its secret to being extra creamy is creating an extra rich homemade almond milk, which can be made in just seconds.

INGREDIENTS

¼ cup blanched almonds

1 cup water

1 tsp. Navitas Organics Matcha Powder

1 Tbsp. liquid sweetener*

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1½ cups ice

Non-dairy whipped cream (optional)

DIRECTIONS

To a blender, add the almonds and water. Blend until completely smooth.

Add the matcha powder, liquid sweetener and vanilla, and blend to incorporate. Add the ice cubes (optional if you want to thicken the frappe) and blend until frosty. Pour into a serving glass and top generously with whipped cream, if desired.

Note: You can always substitute blanched almonds with another form of non-dairy milk such as soy milk, coconut milk, or store-bought almond milk.

*Use your favorite variety of syrup here, such maple syrup, agave, etc. The more neutral-tasting the sweetener, the better the result.

Makes 16 ounces / serves 1-2
